THE NEW YEAR

WE wish our readers much of the blessing of the Lord in the days which lie ahead. God, in His goodness and mercy, has helped us hitherto. Let us seek grace to be looking to Him with the same humble confidence as the Psalmist had when he said,

As we enter another year, let us also have a loose hold on the things of this world, and set our affection on things above. "Make not your nest in the forest of this world," said Samuel Rutherford, "for it is destined to be burned." Blessed is the man who has his treasure in heaven, for where his treasure is, there will his heart be also. May this be our hope.
