Ingwenya
THE school session has begun once again at John Tallach Secondary School with a new intake of pupils. As usual there is a full compliment of pupils some 630. If there had been more places available in the school they would have been taken up by now. For the first two or three weeks after the session began further applicants had to be turned away almost daily.
A number of new teachers have joined the staff, under Miss Marion Graham, the Headteacher. These include Miss Sheena Ross, B.Sc., from Dingwall, Scotland, who arrived in Ingwenya at the beginning of January and is teaching Biology and Bible Knowledge.
There have been very heavy thunderstorms in the area, and the rainy season this year has brought, as they say there, “very good rains”. This augers well for the growing season.
