OUR Mission at Sengera was invaded by about twenty robbers, some of them armed with guns, between 1 am and 2 am on Friday, 17th April. They cut their way through the security fence in two places, attacked and overcame the four Mission guards, two of whom were wounded, one seriously, and then forced Dr de Jong to hand over a large sum of Mission money. Mercifully and thankfully, no one was killed, and none of the Mission staff were harmed.
This frightening incident reminds us that we should pray often for our Mission staff, and seek not only a blessing upon their work but also that the Lord would protect them constantly.
Mr Ian MacLean, Sengera Mission Administrator, and family are at home in Scotland on furlough. They are due to return in August, God willing.
