Broadstairs Appeal
For some years a number of families have been travelling over 80 miles each way from Broadstairs in Kent to London every Sabbath. A weekly Prayer Meeting has been held in Broadstairs for several years and recently a Sabbath evening service has also been commenced. The meetings in Broadstairs are well attended and it is hoped that, in the Lord’s goodness, the work of the gospel may be advanced through the work of the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland in the town in the coming years. A Building Fund has been opened in order that a suitable property may be purchased in due course for the furtherance of the Church’s work and witness in this corner of England.
The Broadstairs Building Fund currently stands at approximately £8800. Being outside of Scotland, no grants from the Forsyth Bequest are available and an appeal for help is therefore being made to interested friends throughout the Church. Donations may be sent to Mr R van Kralingen, 100 Avondale Road, South Croydon, Surrey, CR2 6JB.
Paul Rowland, Clerk to the London Congregation Deacon’s Court
At their meeting on 25 June 2003 the Southern Presbytery unanimously agreed to support the appeal of the London Deacons’ Court on behalf of the Fund which has been opened with a view to securing suitable property for the furtherance of the work of the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland in Broadstairs.
