Hurry over your morning and evening service in your family! Is this the way? What! rob God! rob yourself, your wife and little ones? Who ever lost anything by giving sufficient time in the closet, in the praying circle, around the family altar! Beloved, give yourselves time, ample time, for reading exposition and prayer, whenever you assemble for family devotions. Calculate on this, come prepared for this. Embrace these morning and evening services as seasons of refreshing, of soul richness, to gain strength and to impart strength. Take time, read, pray, pour out your soul, lift up holy hands, expect a blessing, heavenly food, the food of angels. Let nothing drive you hence, no hurry or flurry of business. Say to the world, “Stay here, while I go yonder and pray.”
