Note: The Commission of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, in 1650, appointed a National Fast on account of the sins relating to the Gospel Ordinances, these sins being Reasons for such a Fast. The Reasons were printed in tract form in 1832, by a Minister in Aberdeen, who then considered they were deserving of serious and prayerful attention by all classes of the inhabitants of Aberdeen. These Reasons, which we herewith publish, have their application to the Churches and people of Scotland today.—Editor.
