Day of Humiliation and Prayer
The Synod agreed that a day of humiliation and prayer be held throughout the Church on Wednesday 11th or Thursday 12th October, 1972 (D.V.) to confess our fearful national sins in Church and State and implore the Lord to intervene according to His promise “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him”. Isaiah 59: 19.
Ordination and Induction at Aberdeen
The Northern Presbytery have agreed that the ordination and induction of Rev. Edward Rayner, B.A., to the pastoral charge of the Aberdeen congregation will take place at Aberdeen on Friday, 6th October at 7 p.m. (D.V.). The moderator of Presbytery, Rev. R.R. Sinclair, Wick, will preach and preside (D.V.).
