In connection with the proposal that the first Sabbath in January, April, July and October be given over in a special way to prayer for revival, it was agreed that in the issues of the F.P. Magazine for the months previous to those mentioned above space be given to provide our people with information on matters to be remembered in prayer.
The following topics for prayer may be helpful in addition to the items of Rhodesian Mission News included in this issue of the Magazine:—
- Prayer for our own needs as individuals—that the Lord would graciously visit our souls with His quickening and reviving Spirit.
- Prayer for our families—that the Lord would preserve the young of our families from the many snares and dangers to which they are exposed in this dark day, and that they might early be brought to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their own personal Saviour.
- Prayer for our communities—that the Lord’s hand may be evidently seen in our communities in restraining vice and corruption and in advancing righteousness and truth.
- Prayer for our own Church—that the Lord would bless and purify it at home and abroad, extend its witness to other parts of the earth, and prosper our Mission in Rhodesia by a spiritual reviving in that land.
- Prayer for the nations of Europe—that Eastern and Western Europe may be delivered from the twin yoke of Popery and Communism and that the Gospel may yet prevail in those lands.
- Prayer for all the nations of the earth—that the plea of David may be fulfilled: “Let the whole earth be filled with His glory.”
