The following letter is from the Baptist Church in Kiev which Rev. D. Ross visited in April of this year. Mr Ross thought it would be of much interest to the people of our Church and others outwith our Church who so readily contributed to the cost of sending these Bibles to Russia.
Kiev

Dear friends in Christ Jesus living in Scotland. The elders of the newly set up Christian Church in Kiev, are sincerely thankful for the delivery of 1000 black covered Bibles, through brother Donald Ross’s efforts. The Bibles have already been distributed free of charge in Kiev and in the Boyarka Church, which is in the suburb of Kiev. The elders wish you all new spiritual successes in God’s vineyard.

Urgent Appeal for Foreign Mission Staff
At Ingwenya, at John Tallach Secondary School, there is an urgent need for teachers having Mathematics or Science at degree level. Persons not having teacher training will be acceptable.
At Sengera in Kisii Province in Kenya there is urgent need for a doctor or nurse to supervise the setting up and running of the Hospital Clinic which has recently been built.
Again we would urge suitably qualified persons to give prayerful consideration to the above appeal. Anyone willing to respond to these needs should contact the Clerk to the Foreign Missions Committee, Rev. Dr. J. R. Tallach, Free Presbyterian Manse, Raasay, Kyle, IV40 8PB.

Note — A Forgotten Great Scotsman
With regard to the article in the August issue of the Magazine with the above title, it has been pointed out by a reader that the accuracy of the details of Rev. Alex. Comrie’s shipwreck have been questioned by J. M. Banfield in his biographical introduction to Alexander Comrie’s ABC of Faith, recently republished by Zoar Publications, to which readers may refer.
