DAY OF HUMILIATION AND PRAYER
THE Synod has appointed that “Wednesday, 10th December, 1997, be kept as a day of humiliation and prayer throughout the Church, to acknowledge our enormous transgressions and backsliding both nationally and ecclesiastically, and to implore the Lord for His own glory to shine upon us favourably, by the outpouring of His Holy Spirit in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
CHURCH DEPUTIES TO CANADA, AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND
THE Dominions and Overseas Committee is sending two deputies to assist our congregations abroad.
God willing, the Rev. K. D. Macleod will visit Australia and New Zealand, leaving on the 2nd of December and returning on the 27th of January 1998. It is expected that he will supply all our Congregations in these countries, and also attend to various other duties laid upon him.
Rev. K. Watkins, who has already arrived in Chesley, Canada, is supplying the congregation there and also conducting the communion season services. He will also be visiting a group of people who worship together in Mount Elgin, and another in the Southern part of the United States, both of which wish to know more about the Free Presbyterian Church with a view, in the case of one of them at least, of belonging to the Church.
We are grateful to Mr Macleod and Mr Watkins for willingly undertaking this extra work. It is most desirable that we would pray for them as they engage in their duties for the Church in these countries, that the Lord would protect them in their travels, give them wisdom and grace for their work, and success in it.

VISIT TO THE UKRAINE
THE Rev. D. A. Ross flew to Odessa on Thursday, 6th November, to do some mission work among those in Odessa and Kiev with whom we have contact.
He expects to return on Tuesday, 25th November, God willing. He requests that the Lord’s people may be remembering him in prayer, seeking that the Lord would bless his endeavours. ☐
NOTICES TO CONGREGATIONAL TREASURERS
1. Final remittances for 1997
CONGREGATIONAL Treasurers are requested to send their final remittances for 1997 to the General Treasurer to reach him not later than Monday, 29 December 1997, to allow these to be banked by 31st December, 1997. All payments not banked by the end of the year will be considered as 1998 receipts.

2. Acknowledgements of donations
IT has been agreed with the Editor, that all acknowledgements of donations for insertion in the Free Presbyterian Magazine should, in future, be sent to the General Treasurer’s office and not direct to the Editor. It is hoped to have these entered on computer disk there and sent to the Editor in that format. Acknowledgements for entry in the January 1998 issue, for example, should be sent to the General Treasurer, to reach him by 12 December 1997, and so forward.
