The Pope’s visit to Cuba
ONE newspaper has hailed the Pope’s visit to Cuba with the headline, “Christ conquers Castro”. Leaving aside for the moment the fact that the papacy is the antichrist, it may well be true that the Pope, by visiting Cuba, will contribute to the weakening of communism there, just as he played an influential part in undermining communism in Poland in the 1980s. It is predicted by some commentators that while communism in Cuba is probably approaching its demise, the faith represented by the Pope will go on conquering.
It does not follow that because God, in His providence, used various agencies to overthrow communism in Poland and other parts of Eastern Europe, that His blessing is upon these agencies. As far as the Papacy is concerned, the opposite is the case. God has pronounced His curse upon it. Not only shall its conquering days end but it shall be utterly destroyed (2 Thes 2:8) probably sooner and certainly more suddenly than some expect.
Threat to Roman Catholic schools
DURING a debate in the House of Lords, Lord MacKay of Ardbrecknish has called for the abolition of separate schooling for Roman Catholic children. It is reported that the Roman hierarchy in Scotland has “reacted angrily”, and little wonder when the state funds the 64 secondary schools and around 350 primary schools which the Roman Church has in Scotland.
If any have reason to be aggrieved, it is the majority Protestant population which is paying for training up many thousands of Roman Catholic children in a religion that is false and divisive. The privilige of having its own state funded schools was granted to the Roman Catholic Church by Parliament in 1918. Because responsibilty for education will pass from Westminister to the Scottish parliament in 1999, the Roman Church has begun lobbying the political parties in Scotland to support the staus quo. Sad to say, the Roman Catholic argument for retaining its privilege is bolstered by the fact that the Prime Minister has sent his eldest son to the grant maintained Roman Catholic London Oratory school.
Welsh priest convicted
BARELY a month goes by without reports appearing in the press about Roman Catholic priests being guilty of the sin of uncleanness, in one form or another. The latest report is that a certain “Father John Lloyd, 57, friend and confidant of the Archbishop of Cardiff “, has been found guilty of indecently assaulting a 13-year-old girl after he had baptised her and then invited her into his home. Since his conviction several new allegations of a similar nature have been made against him and are being investigated by the police.
It is a well-chronicled fact two of Rome’s anti-Scriptural elements, enforced celibacy and auricular confession, have given rise to innumerable transgressions of the Seventh Commandment by Romish priests. Continuing revelations show that Rome has not changed; it is a corrupt and corrupting system. We fail in our duty if we do not pray that it will be overthrown and destroyed, and that the multitudes duped by it will be liberated.
