BARNOLDSWICK MARCH COMMUNION

TAKING into account the somewhat isolated nature of the congregation and the new availability of a manse, the Barnoldswick Kirk Session have decided to re-instate the March communion season, on the third Sabbath of March each year. God willing, services for March 2000 will be as follows:

Thursday 16th March 7.45 Prayer meeting
Friday 17th March 7.45 Prayer meeting
Saturday 18th March 2.00 Prayer meeting (prayer meeting) and 3.00 Prayer meeting
Sabbath 19th March 10.45 am and 6.30 Prayer meeting
Monday 20th March 7.45 pm

It is hoped that the Rev D J MacDonald, together with the Interim Moderator, will assist on this occasion.

Roy Middleton, Session Clerk

PREACHING VISIT TO SINGAPORE

REV. E. A. Rayner, minister of our Grafton Congregation in Australia, has recently visited the Covenant Grace Church, Singapore, to conduct services. As was recently reported, the pastorless Covenant Grace Church has been in correspondence with our Church, with the result that the Dominions and Overseas Committee sent a deputy, the Rev. John MacLeod, to visit them last August.

An elder of the Covenant Grace Church, Mr Bernard Yong, has written: “Rev. Rayner’s visit has been very encouraging. We are very glad to have had him here.” He also comments that they feel they have benefitted under the ministry of the Word and advice of both ministers.

He adds, “I realise that the FP is also in want of ministers, and despite this you still take an interest in us, . . . But our strength and resource is of the Lord, and therefore we will need to continue to look to Him who is able to provide.”

BOOKROOM FUND

By appointment of Synod, the Special Collection in the year, on behalf of the Bookroom Fund, is due to be taken in congregations during the month of February, D.V.
