The Late Rev. James MacLeod, Greenock
In our last issue we referred to the serious illness of our brother minister, Rev. James MacLeod, Greenock; and we have now with sorrow to record his death on the 8th January, 1963, at Larbert, Stirlingshire, in the home of his son-in-law, Dr. Robertson. By his passing from this earthly scene and the Church here, to be with his Lord among the Church in heaven, an outstanding minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and a man valiant for the Truth, has been removed from the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland. He loved the testimony for truth raised in 1893, and declared this in no uncertain terms during his long ministry. We extend to Mrs MacLeod, the widow, and her family, deep sympathy in their sore bereavement; and likewise we extend sympathy to the Greenock congregation who have lost their Pastor. “Help Lord, because the godly man doth daily fade away; and from among the sons of men, the faithful do decay.” (Ps. 12, vi).
