Rev. D. J. MacDonald
Convener of Training of Ministry Committee
Church Deputies
Rev. A. F. MacKay left for Canada on 20th October, where he is supplying Chesley for two months. Rev. Neil Ross returned from supplying the Chesley congregation on Friday, 21st October, 1988. Rev. D. B. Macleod is expected to return to this country at the end of December. We pray that the labours of the Deputies may be blessed and that the Lord’s protecting care may be over them in all their journeys.
Caledonian MacBrayne and Sabbath Ferries
The Outer Isles Presbytery and the Sabbath Observance Committee are continuing to protest and do what they can to reverse Caledonian MacBrayne’s recent decision to start a Sabbath ferry service from Harris next summer. The Clerk of the Sabbath Observance Committee asks for concerted prayer that the Lord would thwart this, to preserve what remains of Sabbath observance and to avert God’s judgments on individuals and communities.
Ingwenya Mission
The Foreign Mission Committee wish it to be known that there is still a shortage of staff at the John Tallach Secondary School at Ingwenya. Any person with a University Degree although not necessarily possessing Teacher Training, would be welcome there and would be acceptable to the Department of Education in Zimbabwe.
Readers should continue to bear the needs of the mission-field to the Throne of Grace continually. Anyone who is interested in giving a period of service to the Mission as outlined above should contact the Clerk of the Foreign Missions Committee, F.P. Manse, Raasay, IV40 8PB.
List of Communions
The Editor would be glad to know of any corrections to the list of Communions for 1989.
