Volume 4 of the Free Presbyterian Magazine

Another volume of the early FP Magazine is available online. This is volume 4, covering the 12 issues between May 1899 and April 1900, and available at this page.

A nugget of great value, especially given the day we live in, is a saying of Joseph MacKay, in the February 1900 issue, as follows:

“In the times of the prosperity of the Church, the Lord’s servants ploughed with four horses, faith, love, discernment, and zeal; but as the church declined, faith became lame, love got sick, discernment lost the sight of an eye, and zeal died, so that many do the work with the two horses of carnal reason and human learning.”

This can be found in Ministers and Men of the Far North, available from the FP Bookroom.
