Applecross Communion—Change of Date.
The Kirk Session of the Applecross Congregation have decided that the date of their second Communion will be altered from the third Sabbath of October to the fourth Sabbath of September, with effect from next September, the Lord willing.—D. J. Gillanders, Session Clerk.
New Church, Dingwall.
Mr. D. Matheson, “Carminish,” Achany Road, Dingwall, Clerk to the Deacons Court of the Joint Congregation of Dingwall and Beauly intimates that Town and Country Planning permission has now been obtained for the erection of the new Church at Dingwall and he expects that work will have commenced by the time this magazine is issued. Further donations are accordingly earnestly requested and loans free of interest or otherwise are particularly solicited from anyone who may feel disposed to provide funds in this way, loans being repayable say in four to five years or as may be arranged, and being acknowledged by simple receipt signed by Mr. Matheson as Clerk to the Deacons Court of the Joint Congregation of Dingwall and Beauly and as Treasurer of the Dingwall Section of the Joint Congregation.”
Deputy for Australia and New Zealand.
We are glad to inform our people here and abroad that Rev. D. J. Matheson, Glasgow, has secured a passage for himself and Mrs. Matheson who accompanies her husband, on the “Southern Cross” of the Shaw Saville Line and hopes, D.V., to sail from Tilbury Docks, London, for Auckland, New Zealand, on Wednesday, 29th May, 1957. We pray that the Lord may preserve them both throughout their 9 months’ absence from this country, and that the divine blessing may accompany Mr. Matheson’s labours as Church Deputy among our people in New Zealand and Australia.—A.
