The editor of The English Churchman, in the issue of March 7th, deals with the recent publication of a new Church newspaper intended for Church of England readers and others. It is called The Dome and is intended as a paper for Anglican Catholics. The following is an abstract given from The Dome regarding its history: “In June of last year a few priests met and suggested a circular letter to their brothers to see their reaction. The circularised priests and a few laymen sent donations to launch this new paper. But, most important of all, a brief petition was sent to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham and it was all laid at the feet of Our Lord and His Blessed Mother. Christ’s answer at His Mother’s request has been manifested in your new paper.” As the editor of The English Churchman states: “When one reads this new paper the conviction grows that it is Roman Catholicism which fills the gaze of its editors and contributors, and that The Dome is the dome of St. Peter’s, Rome.” This is the sort of activity which is going on apace in the Church of England today, to bring that Church back to subjection to the Pope, and to be absorbed into the Roman Catholic Church and all the darkness and bondage of the same. Truly, the Evangelicals of the Church of England have religious controversy forced upon them if they are to retain what remains of Protestantism in their midst. For the Church of Scotland to be opened to a measure of Episcopacy at the present time, would only be the opening of a door for Romanisers. Maybe The Dome will be an unwelcome, yet authentic means of obtaining information as to Jesuitical activities in the Church of England, that these may be exposed and condemned.
