Miss K. M. MacAulay, M.A., is due to sail from Capetown for a well-earned furlough on 1st January, 1960, (DV). She will be greatly missed on the Mission where she has been doing praiseworthy work in the Teacher’s Training Centre. Miss Nicolson is also due for leave at the end of 1960 and the need for teachers to undertake work in the Mission is as acute as ever it was.
The Committee call upon qualified teachers (male or female) belonging to the Church to give earnest consideration to going out to teach the native children for a spell. The Committee is sure they would find it a most rewarding experience as well as relieving our staff who are overburdened with work in their labour of love.
All who have a desire to engage in this work should get in touch with the Clerk of the Committee immediately.
Transport Fund. The need for supporting this fund is as great as ever. Mr. Van Woerden’s letter in this Magazine shows the kind of Country through which he travels to bring the gospel and medicine to some who never saw a white man before. For this work he is in great need of adequate transport and the Committee are sorry to say that he has not got this at present. The Committee hope in the near future to be in a position to publish maps showing the various stations and our readers will be better able to appreciate the distances. In the meantime, Mr. Van Woerden and the others have to continue their journeys and need the necessary vehicles to do so.
