Dear Mr Maclean,
We had a pleasant and restful voyage, although the sea was rough for the last four days. Mr Mpoifu felt sea sick. He got over it after two days.
We found our wives and families well and anxious to see us back. Mission friends and church people are all well and enjoy a measure of peace. It is all of the Lord’s goodness.
Psalm Books. Surcharge was £11 13s 9d which I paid on the boat. I left the cases at Cape Town dock sheds to be railed to Bulawayo in a goods train which is cheaper than railing them in a passenger train. I expect them to be in Bulawayo this week.
Mr MacDonald and I would very much appreciate if the surcharge and rail age be paid from our end. I hope you will be agreeable to this suggestion.
Mission News. Mr Campbell and Miss Fraser, Mr Tallach and Miss Mackenzie have announced their engagements to marry on the 30th of August, 1963. Marriage service and reception will be conducted at Zenka, D.V. They have asked me to marry them. This will be quite an appreciated change in the life of our mission staff.
Mr Van Woerden appears to be back to his normal health. We have reason to be thankful to the Lord of Life.
I wish to thank you very much for making our visits in Scotland and Holland successful. It has been a wonderful experience and we enjoyed every day of our short stay.
May the presence of the Lord be with you.
