An article in the Daily Express states that the weight of evidence given to the Clayson Committee, which has been looking into the drinking laws in Scotland, has been in favour of a major relaxation of these laws. The article also maintains that the Government will introduce a Bill at the end of the year to relax the liquor laws. An Editorial in the same newspaper welcomes such a move with the significant comment: “This is one concession we in Scotland will gladly make to the Common Market.”
The attempt to break down Sabbath legislation has been actively pursued by the enemies of the Sabbath during recent years. In a number of instances they have been frustrated in their attempts. We pray that they will be unsuccessful in this instance also.
