In her message to the Assembly, the Queen referred to the 400th anniversary of the death of John Knox and said “He has been revered down the years for his unfailing devotion to the Church and his fearless proclamation of the Gospel, but also for the immense and lasting contribution which he made to the social well-being of the nation.”
