As the end of 1972 draws in sight it ought to be a sobering thought to us that we must yet give account to God as to how we have used or misused the time afforded us during the past year. A time of reckoning lies ahead when we shall be judged according to our works. How shall we stand in that day?—even with respect to the deeds done during 1972. Samuel at the end of his life could call all Israel to witness against him before the Lord if he had defrauded or oppressed anyone. Have we faithfully discharged whatever the Lord has laid to our hand to do? Have we done it as unto the Lord and not to men? Have we not to confess that in all things we come short of God’s glory? In surveying the past we are bound to seek anew the sprinkling of the blood of the Redeemer in order that our sins which are many may be blotted out.
