This volume possesses most of the merits of, and follows more or less the same pattern as his former works of this nature. While appreciating the candour and thoroughness of his attempt to identify the ‘man of sin’ as an eschatological person, we are not thereby disposed to repudiate the statement of the Confession of Faith which firmly asserts that the Pope is the ‘man of sin’. The recent additional heresies of the Roman Catholic church, together with the increasing momentum of ecumenism, seem to me to buttress the view of the Confession, and to weaken the rather vague and negative conclusion of the author. Apart from this blemish, we recommended the perusal of this book.
It only remains to be mentioned that the review which appears on the dust cover of the volume is actually a review on Galatians which has already appeared in the pages of the Free Presbyterian Magazine.
