Meeting of Synod

At the Meeting of Synod at Inverness in May 1973 it was agreed that the Synod adjourn to meet again (D.V.) on Tuesday 4th September 1973 in the Church, Inverness, at 11 a.m. in Private, and at 6.30 p.m. in Public.

Formation of New Presbytery

At the Meeting of Synod at Inverness in May 1973 it was moved and agreed to “that in view of the prosperity of the Church in Australia and New Zealand a new Presbytery for the congregations in Australia and New Zealand to be called ‘The Australia and New Zealand Presbytery’ be formed.” It was further moved and agreed to “that the Synod appoint the first meeting of the Australia and New Zealand Presbytery to take place in Auckland on Tuesday 21st August 1973 at 7 p.m., appoint Rev. William Maclean to be the Moderator of Presbytery, and appoint the Presbytery seat to be at Auckland, New Zealand.”
