Puritan Reprints. Zoar Publications, 36 Marlborough Road, Sheffield, Yorks S10 1DB.
Zoar Publications expect to commence shortly, God willing, a series of reprints of smaller Puritan and other free-grace booklets, to be issued at least quarterly; and containing an average of 32 pages, wire-stitched in a glossy cover usually carrying a full-picture of a locality connected with the author. They will also have a brief biographical note.
The first issues will include John Mason’s Select Sayings, Thomas Adam’s Majesty in Misery, John Hill’s It Is Well, and Thomas Willcox’s Honey Out Of The Rock; works of a suitable length are being considered for publication by authors such as Timothy Rogers, Robert Bolton, Richard Sibbes, William Teelinck, Ralph Erskine, Tobias Crisp, William Secker and Thomas Goodwin, and others, to include English, Scots and Dutch writers of the period.
The spiritual usefulness of present-day readers has been the chief object, and therefore while retaining faithfulness to the author, obsolete words and turns of phrase have been replaced with a modern equivalent.
The price will be 30p per issue post paid, but those becoming regular subscribers may have the first four issues for £1 post paid.
