Formation of New Presbytery
The Synod agreed to set up the Presbytery of Skye consisting of all the congregations in Skye including Raasay with its seat at Portree. Its first meeting was to have been held on 25th June, 1974 at Portree with Rev. Fraser MacDonald as Moderator.
In consequence of the above decision the remaining congregations of the former Western Presbytery were formed into a new Western Presbytery having its seat at Shieldaig. It was to have its first meeting also on 25th June, 1974 at Shieldaig with Rev. Alex MacAskill as Moderator.
