Church Notes

Student Received

At its meeting on 12th November, 1974, the Southern Presbytery received Mr Angus Morrison, a communicant in the Oban Congregation, as a student studying for the ministry of the Church. Mr Morrison is at present a third year honours student in the Arts Faculty of the Glasgow University.

(Rev.) Donald MacLean,
Clerk of Presbytery.

Death of Inverness Elder and Deacon

Mr Finlay Beaton, an elder in the Inverness congregation and a lay missionary, passed away on 5th December 1974 at the advanced age of 91 years. The Inverness congregation suffered another loss in November when Mr Wm MacKenzie, a deacon and the congregational treasurer, passed away after a few months illness. We extend sympathy to those who have been bereaved and pray that the Lord will raise up others in the place of those whom He has taken. We expect that fuller notices will appear in due course.
