Dumbarton Congregation — Manse Appeal

The Dumbarton Congregation have been successful in the kind providence of the Lord in purchasing a Manse at 30 Barloan Crescent, Dumbarton, for the sum of £12,000. The Manse is considered to be suitable in every way and the date of entry is 16th April 1975 (DV).

The congregation is in the position of being able to pay £5,000 of the purchase price and have also secured a loan of £7,000 from another source. This loan it has undertaken to repay, if at all possible, within seven years.

The congregation has been steadily building up over the past number of years and the prospect of being in a position to call a minister will certainly stimulate interest. At the same time, it is felt that help will need to come from friends throughout the Church in order to meet the obligation of repaying the loan.

The Deacons’ Court would appeal to all friends to give such help as the Lord may enable them to do. Donations should be sent to the Congregational Treasurer, Mr A. E. Alexander, 38 Bonhill Road, Dumbarton.

Glasgow 18th February 1975. The Southern Presbytery heartily endorse this appeal.

Malcolm Macsween,
Moderator.
Donald Maclean,
Clerk.
