The plight of the Vietnamese refugees has forced itself on the attention of the leaders of the nations of the world. The tragic situation of these boat people, forced to leave their own land in unseaworthy craft for an unknown destination, is almost without parallel in the history of the world. Many of them have perished in a watery grave, while others have been resettled or await resettlement in other lands. Human compassion requires that the nations who are capable of receiving additional immigrants should open their doors to them.
The condemnation of Communism and Communistic regimes is writ large on the tragedy of these boat people. Already in Indo-China Communism has shown its true colours in the barbarities executed by the former regime in Cambodia. Now Communist Vietnam follows suit but adopts its own method of inhuman cruelty. The day is surely coming when God will take vengeance upon His enemies and we can be sure that in that day these perpetrators of fearful crimes against humanity shall not escape.
