The New Year
Once again in the providence of God we enter another year and take this opportunity of wishing our readers at home and abroad the Lord’s richest blessings during this year which has now opened. This ought to be a time of sober reflection as to how we have used the year that has now passed into history but which has gone before us to judgment. Whatever may be true of the year that is gone, what need we have of the grace of God if we are to serve the Lord during the year which has begun. If we are yet without Christ, may the New Year be to us a time to seek the Lord while He may be found. If we are in Christ then may it be to us a time when we dedicate ourselves anew to Him and to His service. May this year prove a time of blessing to the Church of God through an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in awakening and reviving grace. May the Lord be pleased in the midst of deserved wrath to revive His work, throughout the whole world.
