(Continued from last issue — page 186)
Thy Spirit be dwelling and ruling in me;
Oh rid me of all that is grievous to Thee;
In light of Thy truth be Thou leading me,
Conformed of thine image I’m longing to be.
In performance of all that’s appointed for me,
Of afflictions and troubles, Oh do Thou keep me.
While Satan harass and I feel it so hard —
Oh save me from bringing a shame on Thy cause.
Till life-storms are over, I’ll continue to plea,
Remember, dear Jesus, those dear unto me;
My sisters and brothers and their need to the end,
Have mercy upon them and make them Thy friends.
Oh! Lover of souls, I would further implore,
The windows of Heaven to open once more;
Pour out Thy blessing which Thy word has foretold,
Thy glory and beauty shall men then behold.
And so while I wait for the change that’s to be,
In Thy means of appointment with Thy people I’ll be.
On Sabbath and weekdays in love let me be
Enquiring and seeking sweet glimpses of Thee.
Oh Lord of Lords Who reign’st over all
And Who is the One and true living God;
Empower Thy people whom Satan oppose,
More than conquerors make them and prosper Thy cause.
Oh Darling of Heaven, what a wonder ’twill be,
When a wretch of a sinner presented by Thee,
Without spot or blemish to the Father will bring;
Darling of Heaven Thy mercy I’ll sing.
Now as in the vision Thou showed unto me,
As well as the Word Thou spoke unto me,
By Thy free grace in glory, Thy face I shall see,
The Darling of Heaven my anthem shall be.
