BARNOLDSWICK MANSE FUND APPEAL
IN recent years the Barnoldswick congregation has shown encouraging signs of growth. In view of the spiritual darkness in England and the consequent scarcity of causes reformed in doctrine, worship and practice, a number of members and adherents are faithfully travelling considerable distances to the public means of grace. The prayerful desire of the congregation is that in due course the Lord might graciously settle a Minister of the gospel over them. Meanwhile, in order that the congregation might have the opportunity to hear the Ministers and any Students of the Church, it is hoped to purchase a suitable Manse property that in the first instance would serve as a base for preaching supply.
The Manse Fund currently stands at approximately £7,000, and the congregation does not qualify for any grants from the Forsyth Bequest, being outside of Scotland. In these circumstances, an appeal for help is made to friends interested in further establishing the cause of the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland in the north of England. - One or more University / College Graduates
Must have subjects suitable for teaching and be willing to teach Bible Knowledge and take part in other school activities.
- A Couple – the husband to be involved in maintenance and other practical work – the wife, if possible, to look after the school dispensary or do office work. They would also be involved in Sabbath School and Bible teaching.
SERVICES IN TAURANGA, NEW ZEALAND
THE Australia and New Zealand Presbytery granted the petition of members and adherents residing in Tauranga to be recognised as a preaching station. Services are conducted by Mr Dick Vermeulen in the Girl Guide Hall, 17th Avenue, Tauranga each Sabbath at 11 am and 7 pm.
