VISITS TO NORTH AMERICA, UKRAINE AND ROMANIA
THE Rev. J. MacLeod has returned from Canada after spending three Sabbaths supplying the Chesley congregation.
The Rev. K. Watkins will supply the Chesley congregation for the first two Sabbaths in August, God willing. It is intended that the Lord’s Supper will be dispensed in the congregation on the second Sabbath of August. Thereafter, for two Sabbaths, Mr Watkins will conduct services for the group of people in Texas who have expressed a keen interest in the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland, and three of whom are communicants connected with the Chesley congregation.
On 27th July Mr Alastair MacRae and Mr George MacAskill will leave Inverness, God willing, to take a truckload of aid to a Reformed Pastor and his congregation in Bacau, Romania. This load will include the usual items of aid along with 1000 Gospels of Mark and 7500 Scripture calendars in Romanian. The calendars have been granted by the Trinitarian Bible Society. There will be also 400 Hungarian Bibles in the consignment which will be distributed in Hungary and also to Hungarian speaking people in Romania. A friend has donated a considerable quantity of reformed literature which will be distributed on each visit to Eastern Europe.
The Rev D A Ross intends to fly to Odessa on or about 28th July, God willing, to conduct services for the group of people whom we have been visiting on previous occasions. They continue to express the strong desire to belong to the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland. Mr Ross also has to attend to business matters regarding the printing and distribution of reformed literature in the Ukrainian language.
We request our people to be remembering, in prayer, these various activities connected with the spreading abroad of the Word of truth.
