Communion in Singapore
The Singapore Kirk Session have decided to dispense the Lords Supper on Sabbath, September 24, DV. The services will be conducted in the Jade Room, The City Bayview Hotel, 30 Bencoolen Street, Singapore 189621, as follows: Thursday 7.30 pm; Friday 7.30 pm; Saturday 2.30 pm; Sabbath morning, Communion Service, 9.30 am; Sabbath evening 5.30 pm; Monday 7.30 pm.

Sabbath Observance Committee Letter to Prince William
The following is the text of a letter sent to the Prince by the Clerk to the Committee, Rev R MacLeod:
“As loyal subjects to the Crown of Her Majesty the Queen, it is with great sadness that we learn of your attending a concert in Hyde Park on the Lords Day. Our hope for the United Kingdom is that the Lord will raise up a godly Prince on the throne. You and your brother, His Royal Highness Prince Harry, have been the subject of the prayers of many people since news of your birth, and our hope for you is that you will be a God-fearing king, one day, over the subjects of this realm.
“We therefore respectfully remind you that the Word of God speaks about the Lords Day:Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy (Exodus 20:8). When Nehemiah began to build up the state of Israel again after it was brought to ruin through the wickedness of people and rulers, he began by building the wall of Jerusalem and he ensured that the temple ordinances were kept according to Gods Word. He knew that without an eye to the Lord, the God of Providence, he could not prosper in his work. When he understood that men were breaking the Sabbath, he saw the danger that this posed to the well-being of the realm, and he informs us of the approach he took for the safety of Jerusalem, “Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing isthis that ye do, and profane the Sabbath Day? Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? Yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the Sabbath” (Nehemiah 13:17,18).

Teachers for Zimbabwe Mission
Applications are invited from science graduates in biology, chemistry or physics for a post as a teacher at Ingwenya, Zimbabwe, for two years. No teacher-training certificate is required, but the applicant should be prepared to teach Bible Knowledge.
Applications from teachers with other qualifications who are willing to teach Bible Knowledge would be welcome. Again the commitment is for two years.

Leverburgh Residential Care Home Officer in charge
As the present post holder expects to retire at the end of the year, the Leverburgh Residential Care Home Committee invites applications for this post.
