In 2000, the ten most popular boys’ names in England and Wales, in order of popularity, were Jack, Thomas, James, Joshua, Daniel, Harry, Joseph, Samuel, Matthew and Callum. Mohammed and its variants were at number 17. Mohammed and its variants are now easily top (over 7000 such boys born in 2023), and the ten mentioned before have disappeared (although Henry is at number 10). The second most popular boys’ name is Noah on 4382 and the third is Oliver on 3556. The total number of boys born in 2023 was around 300 000.
The figures speak for themselves about the rapid rise of Islam in Britain, and what the future probably holds. Those that will not bow their necks to the “easy” yoke of Christ (Mt 11:30) may have to submit to Islam.
